          • Preferred term, can be used for acute or chronic injuries
        • Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD): Chronic injury to hyaline cartilage and underlying bone
        • Osteochondral injury/osteochondral fracture: Acute injury to hyaline cartilage and underlying bone
        • Chondral injury: Underlying bone not fractured, although bone marrow edema typically present acutely
