Modified Response Criteria in Solid Tumors (mRECIST)
Definitions
Modified response criteria created to assess treatment response in malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM)
Developed in response to belief that RECIST 1.1 does not address unique shape and growth of MPM and could lead to inaccurate measurements
Key Concepts
Unidimensional measurements of pleural thickness obtained
Perpendicular to chest wall or mediastinum
Measured in 2 sites at 3 different levels on axial CT
Addition of 6 specific measurements: 1 univariate diameter
Measurement of lymph nodes and other lesions
Selected according to RECIST 1.1 criteria
Unidimensional measurements obtained
Total tumor burden: Addition of all measurements
IMAGING ANATOMY
Baseline Measurement Guidelines
Imaging Parameters
CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS
Reassessment
Evaluation of Overall Response
